1971 Yamaha XS1-B
Here is your chance to own an original, unrestored, unmolested 1971 Yamaha XS1-B (XS650)!
1971 is the second year the XS650 was made and the last year of the kickstart only, it is exactly what a motorcycle should be, a little bit raw and a lot of fun. At present this bike starts, idles and rides but it needs the things you would expect a cared for but unmaintained 1970s bike would require, It has been sitting for a spell.
The condition of this bike is a good indicator that it has never been left outside for long periods of time. There is minimal rust and the chrome is in great shape for its age.
To find an all original, unrestored XS1 is becoming increasingly uncommon. Perhaps the best feature and what sets this XS apart from many is its original patina. This bike is a survivor. There are plenty out there in need of full restoration that will end up looking better than when they rolled off the showroom floor. This bike doesn’t ask to be that and while you can erase history you can’t get it back once it’s gone.
The current owner bought the bike in 2018 from a Honda mechanic. Over the past four years the cylinders have been bored +2 and with new pistons, the fuel tank has been lined with Caswell tank sealer with both petcocks replaced, new tires, tubes and wheel bearings, the seat is a replacement from Mikes xs (the original seat pan does come with the bike).
Bike has antique plates and a clean title.
