We love old Airheads but we all know that the weakest link in the entire motorcycle is the charging system. So why not upgrade that tired old system and get rid of those charging system issues once and for all!
This kit includes all the components to replace your under-performing 240w BOSCH charging system. Featuring a Permanent Magnet Rotor which eliminates the brushes and potential rotor failure. The Hi-Output Stator produces significant AC voltage at lower RPM's, which is not possible with the original system.
The standard 4 system comes with a voltage regulator/rectifier that eliminates the two components most vulnerable to failure on the BOSCH charging system, namely the diode board and the voltage regulator.
The lithium specific systems comes with a MOSFET regulator/rectifier that is specifically designed to mount under the front engine cover replacing the diode board for a clean, simple installation.
In addition, both of these kits includes a rotor removal tool, a new timing cover oil seal and a caliper for accurate measurements. The new plug and play harness connects the new alternator to your Airheads electrical system efficiently and eliminates potential wiring errors and having to solder or crimp connectors.
note: The 4Li system will work with conventional lead acid and AGM batteries, however it will have a slightly lower voltage regulation of 14.3 volts +/- 0.3 (often required by Lithium type batteries).
