Revival Cycles is proud to offer Motogadget gauges; precision made in Germany and known to be the finest gauges available. Several of our complete custom projects sport them and impressive they definitely are. We all have our own reasons for wanting the simple look of a single gauge, but why give up function in the process? These gauges allow you to have it all: high tech function with the simple, minimalist look of a single gauge on your custom project.
The Motoscope Classic from Motogadget is a multifunctional digital instrument in a round billet aluminium casing with a classic sporty style. Each gauge is finely crafted with an attractive dial face and a red needle lending a classic analogue look to its modern internals. The instrument's rev counter is powered by a very precise electronic stepper motor provided amazing precision. The Motoscope Light also features an additional LCD display and four control LEDs that provide highly precise readouts of the instrument's manifold functions.
This flat and compact single instrument offers exciting possibilities for customizing and designing vehicles. The instrument's perfect design and functions are eminently suited to all original, touring and sport bikes, as well as genuine classics, semi-classics and custom bikes of all kinds.
Furthermore, the Motoscope Classic also fits perfectly in individually styled kit cars, sports cars, quads and trikes. High-quality materials and the most modern manufacturing methods are used in combination with final assembly completed by hand and that well-known German level of quality control of every single Motogadget piece.
The Motoscope Classic from Motogadget is technically identical to the Chronoclassic. The dimensions, functions and mounting accessories are all the same. The most evident differences with the Motoscope Classic are the black numbers on the white dial. The Motoscope Classic is also available as a Speedometer.
Measurements:
The Casing
The billet aluminium casing is CNC-milled and therefore of the highest quality. The brushed surface is anodized with either a black or natural silver polished-aluminium finish. The casing is then completely sealed from the elements. The protective instrument cover is made of a special, scratch-resistant synthetic material. The flat shape of the motoscope classic means flexible installation in an already existing cockpit or in the design of such a cockpit. The standard 80 mm (3.1 inch) installation dimensions of the device allow for easy replacement of original instruments.
The Analogue Display with Needle and the LCD
Engine speed is precisely indicated by a fine, red metal needle mounted on a white dial face with a range of either 0-8.000 rpm, 0-10.000 rpm or 0-14.000 rpm. An innovative form of background lighting means that a maximum area of the clock face provides clearly readable information in a very compact casing. Freely adjustable transmission rates of the stepper motor in combination with needle damping make it possible to read the engine speed indication accurately. The two-line liquid crystal display has a permanent background lighting and provides a high-level readability for both day and night.
Four ultra-bright control LEDs of different colours complete the instrument. The red LED functions as a general warning lamp when threshold values, defined by the user, are reached and exceeded. Such threshold values may involve RPM limits, temperature-min./max.-values, pressure-min./max.-values, or signals provided by OEM sensors.
Operation:
By pressing a menu button on the handlebar - the rider can, for example, be converted from the originally installed high-beam switch - it is possible to alternate between the different LCD functions. The first line of the display always indicates the driving speed. All other readouts can be called up on the second line of the LCD display by pressing the menu button. The menu button is also used for entering all specific vehicle data into the device's computer. Naturally, all adjustments or values remain stored when the power supply is off.
Installation and Connection
Generally, the Motoscope Classic can be connected to any vehicle due to its small dimensions and common installation diameter. In order to make the installation easier, we offer different mounting brackets and assembly accessories as an option. A detailed assembly and instruction manual is included.
Sensors and connecting Cables
In-the-box: the system plugs for all interconnecting electrical cables as well as an approved Dry-Reed sensor for speed measurement.
An approximately 1.5 m long connecting cable makes it possible to attach it to the front or rear wheel. The signal cable for RPM measurement is simply attached to the ignition coil or spark plug. Furthermore Motogadget does offer sensors suited to the optional measurement of air, oil and water temperature as well as oil pressure.
Instruments for CDI ignitions (capacitor ignitions) which are often used in Quads, Enduros, and two-stroke motorcycles have to use an additional signal pickup unit for engine speed. In such cases we would advise you to consult the support page on Motogadget's website regarding vehicle compatibility.
