This week’s guest playlist is brought to you by filmmaker Bradley Beesley. An Okie transplant to Austin, Bradley has been documenting the unique and unusual for over 20 years.
His style of storytelling is akin to one of the greats, Errol Morris, capturing lost and
forgotten oddball subjects, often from his home state. One of those ties to Oklahoma has been a long running collaboration with The Flaming Lips, including The Fearless Freaks, which captured 15 years of one of the most creative evolutions of a band you will see. Another, Okie Noodling, taught the world about the art of hand fishing. Sweethearts of the Prison Rodeo showed the trials and passion of incarcerated women participating in the Prison Rodeo for the first time.
