How to care for your Revival Limited Veg Tan Leather Goods
Veg Tan Leather Care Instructions:
Veg tan is a relatively easy material to care for. Avoid getting the leather wet in the first month, as water rings appear much easier on newer leather. Depending on usage, veg tan leather requires routine conditioning (Chamberlains Leather Milk Liniment No. 1) every three months to soften the grain and strengthen the fibers. Conditioning will aid in preventing cracking in the leather. Routine handling (like that with a wallet) will also assist in conditioning leather simply from the oil from your skin.
Veg tan leather will darken over time with exposure to water, sun, and frequent handling. Darkening is normal and a part of veg tan leather's patina process. After the first month, a slightly damp rag can clean any surface dirt, but tougher stains and heavy dirt will require a cleaner like Chamberlains Straight Cleaner No. 2.
Avoid exposing the leather to high heat like that of a blow dryer, as the leather will shrink.
Worried about water rings?
A water protectant like Chamberlains Water Protectant No. 3 can be applied to avoid water rings.
