Badass Butt Connectors

$52.95

We all try to avoid it, but eventually you're going to have to splice a wire on your bike. If you have to do it, do it right: crimp it, solder it, and use self-sealing heat shrink. Or better yet, use one of these bad-ass connectors that does it all. There is a bead of "low temp" solder in the center of the connector and the heat shrink has a heat activated self sealing adhesive to keep the dust and water out.

We'll upload a video of it in action soon but these things really do work. It is best to use a heat gun because it is more controlled, but these connectors work fine with an ordinary lighter, just make sure you get it hot enough to melt the solder. It is a good idea to use the long lighters because it does take some time under the lighter to melt the solder, and we all hate burning our thumb on a Bic. It is pretty obvious when the solder melts because the heat shrink is clear and you can actually see the solder flow into the joint.

If you are going to make a splice, do it once and never have to wonder if that "iffy" connection is the reason you're pushing your bike.
