The Bell Custom 500 helmet was designed as an homage to the original Bell 500, developed in 1954 by Bell founder, Roy Richter. The Bell Custom 500 has retained the original design aesthetics from Richter's helmet while updating the components with modern protective technology to ensure the helmet is up-to-date. Bell's engineers were able to craft a custom fiberglass layer to complement a specially designed EPS foam layer, keeping the helmet lightweight, narrow in profile, and DOT-compliant. The Bell Custom 500 Helmet also includes a five-year warranty through Bell.
